Haunted Houses - October 2012
This fall at Oakwood Elementary School, Mrs. Perry’s & Mr. Crandall’s fifth grade classes completed a great project.
The students created paper houses incorporating their skills in math, science & art. Each individual
used math and measurements to create the perfect house. When that was completed, they learned how to create a circuit using wires, a small light bulb and a battery. Then the students got a chance to use their creativity to decorate the houses to their liking. Their houses stood strong because they were well measured out, were lit from the
inside with the light bulb and circuit and appeared very festive because of the students’ amazing artistic abilities.
It was a wonderful way for the kids to adapt what they learn in school to every day useful skills.
